Jason Pierre-Paul to undergo more hand surgery this off-season

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul requires more surgery on his hand and will undergo it during the off-season, he told reporters Wednesday.

Pierre-Paul’s index finger was amputated, and portions of his thumb and index fingers were also removed in surgeries following a July Fourth fireworks accident.

The defensive end, who has played for the Giants for his entire six-year career but will become a free agent after this season, also said that he would like to re-sign with New York for next season.

“I want to be here next year,” Pierre-Paul said. “I would like to finish my career here.”

Pierre-Paul did not practice on Wednesday as he nurses an ankle injury.The Giants will play the Philadelphia Eagles in their season finale at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

In seven games in 2015, Pierre-Paul compiled 20 combined tackles and one sack.
