Former New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will meet with the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday, reports Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

The 49ers reportedly requested permission from the Giants to interview Coughlin for the team’s head coaching position. San Francisco fired head coach Jim Tomsula after the team went 5–11 in his first season.

Coughlin stepped down as head coach of the Giants on Jan. 4 after the team finished the season with a record of 6–10 in his 12th year leading the team, but said he was “not necessarily done with coaching.”

The Philadelphia Eagles interviewed Coughlin on Monday. He is the sixth candidate to be considered as the team’s replacement for Chip Kelly.
