Panthers QB Cam Newton hit WR Ted Ginn Jr. with a 45-yard pass to advance Carolina to the Denver 35-yard line on the second play of the third quarter.

Ginn’s reception was the longest play from scrimmage in the game to that point.

The big gain did not result in a score, as Panthers kicker Graham Gano missed a 44-yard field goal attempt to cap the drive.

The Broncos led the Panthers 13–7 in the third quarter of Super Bowl 50.
