Okoye missed the Birmingham Iron's first game against the Memhpis Express.
Olympic discus thrower and former NFL player Lawrence Okoye was arrested with 12 other men for soliciting prostitution. The bust took place last Wednesday by the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force in Alabama.
Okoye, 27, plays defensive tackle for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football. He was released after posting $1,000 bail on Thursday, but missed the Iron's season-opening win against the Memphis Express on Sunday.
"We've been made aware of it. We are in the process of gathering all the information," Iron head coach Tim Lewis told AL.com ahead of the contest on Friday.
Okoye is the British record-holder in discus with his best throw of 68.24 meters. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Despite having no previous football experience, Okoye attempted to play in the NFL. He went undrafted, but later signed with the 49ers. He never appeared in a regular-season NFL game, but had practice-squad stints with the Jets, Cowboys, Bears, and Dolphins.
