The Jets have traded defensive lineman Leonard Williams to the Giants in exchange for two draft picks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports

The Jets will receive a third-round pick in 2020 and a fifth-round pick in 2021 in exchange for the former No. 6 pick, according to Schefter.

Leonard’s name surfaced in trade rumors as early as January. The 2016 Pro Bowler will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but the Giants could retain him under the franchise tag.

The Giants have invested heavily in the defensive line in recent drafts, taking Dalvin Tomlinson in the second round in 2017, B.J. Hill in the third round in 2018 and Dexter Lawrence 17th overall this year. All three players are current starters.
