Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won't play against the Vikings on Sunday due to a knee injury.

Backup QB Matt Moore will instead make his second-straight start for Kansas City in Mahomes' absence.

Mahomes dislocated his right kneecap against the Broncos on Oct. 17. He missed Kansas City's loss to the Packers on Oct. 27 due to the injury, though Moore tossed two touchdowns and no interceptions against Green Bay in his first start of 2019.

The 2018 NFL MVP could return to the Chiefs' offense on Nov. 10 when Kansas City travels to Tennessee to face the Titans.

Kansas City hosts the Vikings on Sunday, entering the matchup first in the AFC West at 5–3. Kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
