Fantasy Football: Week 10 RB Rankings

RB Start of the Week: David Montgomery, Chicago Bears (vs. DET)
In general, Chicago’s offense has struggled and Mitch Trubisky has been especially bad this season. One of the few bright spots on the offense has been David Montgomery. The former Cyclone has been a workhorse with 48 touches—41 carries and seven receptions—over the past two weeks. In those two games, Montgomery has racked up 223 scrimmage yards and scored three touchdowns
No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing running backs this season than the Lions. Detroit has allowed three 100-yard rushers over the past four weeks. Given his favorable matchup and expected volume, Montgomery is an RB1 (top 12) in my Week 10 rankings.
RB Sit of the Week: Kalen Ballage, Miami Dolphins (at IND)
Not only did the Dolphins trade away Kenyan Drake, who made an impressive debut for the Cardinals last week, the NFL has suspended Mark Walton for four games. That should mean that Kalen Ballage will dominate running back touches in Miami this week. Even so, he’s nothing more than a flex option despite six teams being on bye this week.
Yet to eclipse 20 rushing yards in a game this season, Ballage has averaged an inefficient 2.0 yards per carry and converted only one-third of his targets (12) into receptions (four). As a double-digit road underdog, negative game script will work against Ballage as the Dolphins have this week’s lowest implied total (17.0) based on Vegas odds.
