Suspect Wanted in Fatal Stabbing of C.J. Beathard's Brother
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities are searching for a man charged with criminal homicide in a fatal stabbing outside a Tennessee bar.
Michael Mosley, 23, should be considered armed and dangerous, according to a state Bureau of Investigation a statement released early Tuesday. Mosley is accused in the Saturday attack at a Midtown Nashville bar that killed two men and wounded another, since identified as a 21-year-old University of Tennessee student. That man suffered wounds to his arm and eye.
One of the victims was the brother of San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback C.J. Beathard, according to authorities.
The attack started as an argument over an “unwanted advancement” made by a man toward a woman at the bar, according to a statement by Nashville police. The woman was a friend of the victims, police said.
People initially sought four people, including Mosley, for questioning in the attack. Two have been interviewed and another hasn’t been found yet, police said.
At the time of the attack, Mosley was free on bond in the December 2018 assault of a 37-year-old woman at an area Walmart. Mosley is accused of entering the store, “where he had seemingly been advised by phone” of the woman’s location, and then beating her, according to court records. He’s alleged to have hit the woman in the face, knocked her to the ground, kicked her, dragged her across the floor and beat her some more, records say. The attack was related to an ongoing dispute, police said.
Mosley previously was convicted of robbery, felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor assault. In the aggravated assault case, he was found to have stabbed a man and cut a woman in 2015. In the misdemeanor assault case, he was found to have squirted urine out of a shampoo bottle onto a jail employee on Christmas Day that year.
