Broncos to Sign QB Jarrett Stidham Away From Raiders, per Report

The Broncos are expected to sign former Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham to a two-year, $10 million, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. The quarterback is expected to get $5 million guaranteed.

Stidham was drafted out of Auburn by the Patriots in 2019, and after three years in New England, he was traded to Las Vegas last year. When the Raiders benched Derek Carr for the final two games of the season, Stidham got the starts and recorded 584 passing yards with four touchdown passes and three interceptions.

Although there were rumors that Stidham could compete for the starting quarterback job in Las Vegas next year, he instead heads to Denver to back up Russell Wilson. According to Rapoport, Stidham is close with Davis Webb, the Broncos’ new quarterbacks coach.

The move essentially fills out the quarterback room for Denver, with Russell Wilson as the starter and Stidham as the No. 2. Last season, Brett Rypien served as Wilson’s backup and started two games.
