Packers to Retain All-Pro KR Keisean Nixon

The Packers and All-Pro kick return specialist Keisean Nixon have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension, keeping the 25-year-old in Green Bay according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal will run for one season and carries a maximum possible value of $6 million, per the report.

While there's plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Packers this offseason as the organization awaits the decision of Aaron Rodgers, the organization managed to secure one of its most valuable special teams assets for the 2023 campaign.

Nixon had been buried on the depth chart behind Amari Rodgers at the start of the season, not returning a single kick for the Packers until Week 6. Entering Week 8, he had just one kick return on the year.

By the end of the season, however, Nixon led the NFL in kick returns (35) and return yards (1,009), while tacking on a 105-yard kickoff return touchdown, too.

Nixon was undrafted out of South Carolina, spending the first three seasons of his career with the Raiders before latching on in Green Bay last year.
