Tremaine Edmunds Agrees to Four-Year, $72 Million Deal With Bears, per Report

The Bears made a huge splash on Monday, agreeing to a deal with former Bills Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Adam Schefter was the first to report the details of the contract, which is set to be the largest four-year deal doled out to an inside linebacker. According to Schefter, Edmunds and Chicago are in agreement on a four-year, $72 million deal, including $50 million in guaranteed money.

Edmunds’s deal with the Bears cannot be officially signed until the start of the new league year on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. 

Bears GM Ryan Poles has been active early into the offseason, having already offloaded the No. 1 pick in a blockbuster trade with the Panthers. Now, the team is adding Edmunds to the mix in what is another key move from Chicago. 

Despite having already played five seasons in the NFL, the inside linebacker is just 24 years old. He featured in 13 games for the Bills last season, registering 102 tackles, one interception and six tackles for loss.
