Patrick Mahomes Addresses Brother Jackson’s Arrest During Press Conference

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes addressed his younger brother Jackson’s arrest for the first time Thursday when speaking to the media at Kansas City’s OTAs.

Jackson Mahomes was arrested earlier this month on charges of aggravated sexual battery in Johnson County, Kans., stemming from an incident at a restaurant in March.

“Honestly, it’s kind of a personal thing that I’m just kind of going to keep to myself,” Patrick said of his brother Jackson’s arrest. “I mean, at the end of the day, I come here to play football and try to take care of my family at the same time. So I just kinda keep it to myself and just go out there and play football when I’m in the building.”

Jackson is alleged to have shoved a waiter and forcibly kissed a restaurant owner at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park. He reportedly faces three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of battery.

Restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn said that Mahomes went into her office and grabbed her by the neck and forcibly kissed her at least twice. The grab reportedly left a bruise on her neck.

Mahomes’s attorney, Brandan Davies, maintained his client’s innocence when speaking to The Kansas City Star in March.

“Jackson has done nothing wrong,” he said. “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
