Trevon Diggs is among the headliners the Cowboys will need to make a decision on when it comes to a potential contract extension in the near future. He joins a group that features CeeDee Lamb, Tony Pollard and Micah Parsons, among others, who could be in deep discussions on extensions prior to this season and into next offseason.

But when it comes to the current status of Diggs's negotiations, former Cowboys star Dez Bryant revealed that he's been talking with the cornerback and had some interesting comments on the negotiations.

"He [Diggs] is not trying to knock them across the head ... I will say they [Cowboys] are not trying to be fair to him. I feel like what he's asking for he's rightfully deserving of that contract," Bryant said.

Bryant proceeded to say that he was not going to get into full details about the conversations. But he did confirm that he's been speaking with Diggs about his value and what he's done for the organization.

There's no debating how impactful Diggs has been on the field for the Cowboys over his first three seasons. This stretch was headlined by a 2021 campaign that featured 21 passes defended, 11 interceptions and two touchdowns. Even with the strong start to his career, it remains a big question mark as to whether Dallas will opt to pay Diggs what he could potentially receive on the open market.
