Chiefs’ Chris Jones Can Earn Up to $25M on New Contract, per Report

The Chiefs turned the page from a tough Week 1 loss to the Lions by kicking off their Week 2 preparation with a familiar face back in the mix. undefined is now set to end his holdout from the team after reportedly agreeing to terms on a new contract, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Jones’s one-year deal will be worth up to $25 million, but reportedly does not change his base salary of $19.5 million, per Rapoport. Jones can earn the remainder through incentives and is in line to become a free-agent after the season, depending on whether or not the Kansas City opts to use the franchise tag on him.

Jones is coming off a 2022 season in which he was named an NFL First-Team All-Pro after tallying 44 combined tackles, 15.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. Over the span of his seven-year NFL career, Jones has totaled 65 sacks.
