Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Pays Off USC-Notre Dame Bet in Embarrassing Fashion

When Notre Dame beat USC over the weekend, the Fighting Irish gave the Trojans their first loss of the season.

In addition to putting a major hurdle between USC and a spot in the College Football Playoff, the loss also came with a bit of pain for one high-profile alum.

On Thursday, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown spoke with media while dressed as a leprechaun to pay off a bet with teammate Julian Okwara. St. Brown, who starred at USC from 2018 to ’20, made a deal with Okwara, who played at Notre Dame from 2016 to ’19, that the loser had to dress up as the other’s mascot.

“We made an agreement, outside of the facility, and that’s that,” St. Brown said. “This material is trash, everything about this is trash, but it is what it is.”

USC entered the game at 6-0, while Notre Dame was 5-2 coming off two losses in their previous three games. Despite the Trojans coming in undefeated, the Fighting Irish controlled the game at home—USC has not won a game in South Bend since 2011.

St. Brown not only had to deal with Okwara, but his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, who is also a Notre Dame alum.
