Overhead View of Kyler Murray's Big Run vs. the Falcons Is Mesmerizing
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray made his season debut on Sunday after missing the first nine weeks of the campaign while recovering from the ACL injury he sustained last December.
In his first taste of action this season, Murray didn’t appear to have any limitations on him, and that included the use of his legs. Arizona’s quarterback wasted no time picking up some big yards via the ground on Monday. He rushed six times for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons.
On one play in particular, Murray scrambled out of a collapsing pocket and evaded pressure before picking up a first down. The highlight was captured via an overhead camera, the footage from which was posted online by the Cardinals’ social media team, and the results were truly stunning.
Murray could be seen deftly evading a sack from Falcons linebacker Arnold Ebiketie and quickly scrambling in the opposite direction before opting to pick up the first down on the ground. It was a 13-yard gain for Murray, though he clearly worked hard for every yard he picked up, utilizing his speed to keep a play alive that would’ve otherwise been doomed.
The overhead view of Murray’s smooth maneuvering under pressure showcases just how difficult it is to navigate a collapsed pocket, and how the Cardinals quarterback managed to make something out of nothing with his quickness and agility.
