The Texans came oh-so-close to defeating the Jaguars in the Week 12 AFC South battle. Led by rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, Houston drove into Jacksonville territory, setting up a 58-yard field goal attempt with 34 seconds left in the game.

Texans kicker Matt Ammendola’s game-tying attempt was right on line but didn’t quite have the distance, as it bounced off the front of the field goal post, leaving Houston with a 24-21 defeat.

Here's a closer look.

This NFL fan couldn't believe how close the Texans came to tying the game.

The NFL is a game of inches, and it was that margin that could ultimately end up proving the difference in the AFC South. The Jaguars extended their lead in the division to two games over the Texans and the Colts, who defeated the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Not only were Texans fans crushed by the missed kick, but they were also furious with what they felt was officiating that favored Jacksonville.

Needless to say, it was a tough day to be a Texans fan.
