Tua Tagovailoa, Darius Rucker Tease Musical Collaboration After ManningCast Performance

Tua Tagovailoa has enjoyed a strong season for the Dolphins, but the quarterback showed off a new side of himself on ESPN’s ManningCast on Monday night. Tagovailoa broke out his guitar and played a portion of the Eric Clapton classic “Tears in Heaven” while Peyton Manning sang play-by-play to the Bengals-Jaguars game in the background.

Fortunately for Tagovailoa’s fans, the fourth-year pro may not be done sharing his guitar skills with the public.

To wit, a social media account that covers the Dolphins suggested Tagovailoa should have a “jam session” with country music star and Dolphins fan Darius Rucker, and Rucker responded enthusiastically.

Then, early Tuesday morning, Tagovailoa posted that he’d be down to jam with Rucker, using rock music emojis.

Rucker was lead singer of the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish before beginning a successful country music career in his second act.

The Dolphins are 9–3 with a three-game lead atop the AFC East, so Tagovailoa has to be ready for a potential Super Bowl run the rest of the season. But in the offseason, he and Rucker may link up to jam together.
