NFL’s Simple Three-Word Reason for Having Two ‘MNF’ Games on at Same Time in Week 14

NFL fans might be a bit surprised to learn that there are two Week 14 ‘MNF’ games on TV tonight, and they will both be starting at the same time—8:15 p.m. ET.
That’s right, the Titans-Dolphins game will be on ESPN while the Packers-Giants game will be on ABC.
What’s the reasoning for this? Well, Mike North, the NFL's VP of Broadcast Planning, appeared on the SI Media With Jimmy Traina podcast shortly after the schedule was released last spring and explained that the NFL is simply “trying something new.”
