Chargers’ Keenan Allen Had a Frank Response When Asked About Future With Team
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is one of the highest-paid players on the roster, and entering an offseason during which the team is projected to be well above the 2024 salary cap, he made it known that he’d like to be back in the powder blue.
“I don’t want to go nowhere else,” Allen told ESPN’s Kris Rhim on Monday. “I’ve been here 10 years like you said, the longest guy on the team, so I’m not looking forward to anything else.”

Luckily for Allen, whether with Los Angeles or elsewhere, he’ll certainly be sought after. Allen remains one of the league’s top slot receivers and is coming off a franchise-record 108 receptions for 1,243 yards this season and seven touchdowns. He has one year remaining on his contract and is due $18.1 million next year.
Fellow receiver Mike Williams, who tore his ACL in September and is in the final year of a three-year, $60 million contract, expressed that he would like to return as well. But his current focus is on continuing to recover from his knee injury.
“I feel like all that stuff is going to play out itself,” Williams said. “I don’t really think about that too much. That’s going to happen regardless of the situation. My main focus is just getting back healthy.”
It is an offseason of transition for the Chargers, who are in the market for a new coach and general manager. It will be an offseason of important roster decisions too, with Allen and Williams at the forefront of those discussions.
