Andy Reid Had Perfect Quip When Asked If Cold Temperature Gives Chiefs Edge vs. Dolphins
The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Miami Dolphins on wild-card weekend, with the weather forecast projecting some frigid temperatures at Arrowhead Stadium.
The weather report for Saturday’s showdown forecasts temperatures hovering around 0°F. Accounting for wind chill, it could drop to as cold as -10°F.
With the Dolphins accustomed to the warm climate of South Florida, many fans believe the Chiefs will have an advantage playing at home in the frigid weather.
Andy Reid scoffed at that notion on Wednesday. When asked about Kansas City having a possible edge over Miami due to the cold temperatures, Reid offered a clever quip.
“You can’t bank on that. That’s where you get into trouble. We’re not having a snowball fight,” Reid said, via Dave Skretta of the Associated Press.
The Dolphins have lost each of their last 10 games when playing in temperatures below 40°F, according to CBS Sports, a losing streak dating back to 2017. It will be vastly colder than that come kickoff on Saturday.
Although it’s natural to assume the Dolphins might struggle in the cold at Arrowhead Stadium, Reid doesn’t want that idea to spread complacency among his team. It’ll be business as usual for the Chiefs on Saturday, as they look to secure a spot in the divisional round.
