The Philadelphia Eagles have lost five of their last six games, and their recent slide certainly comes at a precarious time with the playoffs beginning this weekend.

The offense has been the primary culprit to blame, as inconsistency and turnovers have marred the unit over the better part of the last month and a half.

ESPN NFL analyst Andrew Hawkins was asked to describe what has led the Eagles to this point, and his clothing analogy when depicting the offense couldn’t have been more accurate.

“This has been their offense the entire year,” Hawkins exclaimed on ESPN’s Get Up! “It’s like buying a pair of distressed jeans with holes in it and saying, ‘Oh, my jeans, holey.’ Yeah, they’re holey! That’s how it started!”

While Hawkins isn’t sure if Philadelphia’s offensive issues can be fixed, star offensive lineman Jason Kelce believes that the Eagles should stay the course.

“I don’t think we need to do a whole complete shift or revamp of the offense,” Kelce told WIP in Philadelphia on Wednesday morning. “I think we need to do some things better and put ourselves in better situations–coaches and players. The reality is the plays that we have in and have been doing all year are the ones that we can have success with and have had success with.”

The Eagles head to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers on Monday night in the NFC wild-card round. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
