49ers’ Deebo Samuel Ruled Out of Game vs. Packers After Hit

San Francisco will be without one of their top offensive threats in the second half.
In this story:

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel was ruled out of Saturday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers after a hard hit in the first quarter.

Samuel was met by Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander while fighting for extra yards on a play in the middle of the first quarter. After the hit, Samuel was checked in the blue medical tent, and later left the 49ers’ sideline, but was ultimately ruled okay to return to the field.

It didn’t last. While Samuel was reportedly initially evaluated for a head injury, he was ultimately ruled out due to a shoulder injury that was apparently from the same play.

Coming out of halftime, Samuel was shown out of his pads, as the 49ers prepared to take the field again.

Samuel’s absence leaves a superstar-sized hole in the 49ers wide receiving corps for the second half.
