Bill Belichick Eyes Return to Coaching in 2025, per Report

When the greatest pro football coach in history–former New England Patriots boss Bill Belichickhit the open market on Jan. 11, many observers took it for granted that he would find a new coaching gig this offseason.

That has not been the case thus far. Despite rampant speculation and multiple interviews with the Atlanta Falcons, Belichick remains unemployed with only two vacancies remaining in the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders.

On Saturday, CBS Sports's Jonathan Jones cautioned against assuming Belichick, 71, is permanently done with coaching.

"Sources tell CBS Sports not to count the GOAT out for 2025," Jones wrote. "There remains a desire for Belichick to return to the sidelines … he just has to do it on his terms."

Belichick is 302-165 lifetime in 29 seasons at the helm of the Cleveland Browns and Patriots. He has six Super Bowl rings to his name as a head coach and two as the New York Giants' defensive coordinator.

Per Jones, television is a potential option for Belichick in '24.

"Every network would want him," an agent told Jones. "He would revolutionize media with the way he prepares."
