American Airlines Salutes Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce With Super Bowl Flights

The Kansas City Chiefs are headed back to the Super Bowl where they’ll look to defend their crown against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.
Ahead of the big kickoff in two weeks time, American Airlines added a flight that runs from Kansas City, Mo., to Las Vegas, Nev., which included a small nod to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift.
With their relationship capturing eyes across the NFL, American Airlines numbered the Feb. 10 flight from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) as flight No. 1989, referencing Swift’s popular album by the same name.

In addition to the Vegas-bound flight No. 1989, American Airlines numbered the return flight from Las Vegas to Kansas City as No. 87, Kelce’s digits for the Chiefs.
Swift, a mainstay on NFL broadcasts this year, has been in attendance at each of Kansas City’s playoff games in support of Kelce.
Despite a concert in Japan on the night before Super Bowl LVIII, Swift reportedly intends to fly from Tokyo to Las Vegas in order to make it to the game. She continues her tour in Auckland, New Zealand the following day.
