Taylor Swift’s Actual Amount of Airtime During NFL Games Will Shock Critics

A frequent complaint this season for many NFL fans is the amount of airtime that pop star Taylor Swift has received during Kansas City Chiefs telecasts.

Did the complaints hold any water? Was she actually shown on television as much as fans think that she was?

Leave it to data analyst Jason Pauley, who crunched the numbers from Sunday’s AFC championship telecast.

As it turns out, Swift was shown on the air seven different times for a total of 44 seconds of the entire broadcast. That air time accounted for just 0.39% of the total AFC championship game telecast, which was three hours and nine minutes long.

Not only that, but Pauley also broke down other notable moments from the game, which included scenes coming out of commercial of people “making, serving and eating crab cakes,” which accounted for 27 seconds of air time, well over half of the total time that Swift was shown during the entire game.

How about that? I guess NFL fans don’t have too much to gripe with after all.

The Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Swift will most certainly be in attendance as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, pursues a second-straight Super Bowl title.
