Chiefs Receiver Has Hilarious Reaction to Seeing Classic Andy Reid Viral Video for the First Time
Most football fans have probably seen the classic video of a teenage Andy Reid towering over his peers during a punt, pass and kick competition at a Los Angeles Rams game in 1971. But until recently, one of Reid’s current players had never seen the unforgettable footage.
The video has been kicking around for ages. It was first uploaded to YouTube in 2011 but resurfaces periodically when a network chooses to air it during a game Reid is coaching in. It’s obvious to see why the clip has endured. In it, the 13-year-old Reid is at least a foot taller than the other kids he’s competing again, which probably explains why the helmet he was given is so ill fitting.
The video is an inescapable part of NFL lore, but Kansas City Chiefs rookie Rashee Rice had somehow never seen it until CBS Sports showed it to him recently. His reaction was priceless.
“Nah, there’s no way that’s him, bro,” Rice said as his laughter quickly became uncontrollable. “I don’t know what y’all built but that’s crazy. That ain’t Coach Reid. Hell nah, bruh.”
It’s true, Rashee. That enormous child in the video from more than 50 years ago really is one of greatest coaches the NFL has ever seen.
