Kevin Harlan’s Radio Call of Chiefs’ Super Bowl-Winning Touchdown Was Electric

One of the most electric calls of the Kansas City Chiefs winning Super Bowl LVIII over the San Francisco 49ers came from Westwood One’s Kevin Harlan.
Harlan previously worked as a Chiefs play-by-play announcer from 1985 to ’93, so calling a Kansas City championship must have been extra special for him. And fans could tell this by the excitement in his voice as wide receiver Mecole Hardman ran into the end zone in overtime to secure the title.

“Touchdown! It’s caught! Hardman caught the ball! The Chiefs have won!” Harlan shouted. “The entire bench empties, chasing [Patrick] Mahomes in the end zone. Their third Super Bowl in five years! The Chiefs are back-to-back Super Bowl champions! It is a dynasty! The Chiefs have won Super Bowl LVIII 25–22 in overtime.”
