Patrick Mahomes Enjoys Tom Brady Comparisons but Still Defers to Him As the GOAT

Patrick Mahomes is inching closer to Tom Brady in the “Greatest of All Time” debates after the Kansas City Chiefs won their third Super Bowl title in the last five seasons on Sunday.

While Mahomes is constantly asked about being compared to Brady, who won seven Super Bowls in his career, the quarterback admits he has a ways to go before he thinks he can join Brady in those conversations.

“He is the greatest of all time and I like being compared to him, but I still have so long that I have to go in my career if you look at the longevity, the consistent greatness that he had every single year,” Mahomes said Tuesday on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show. “All I can do is just try to continue to be the best me every single day that I have and have no regrets.”

Mahomes gave another classy answer about the “GOAT” comparisons right after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday. He admitted then that it’s hard to be compared to Brady because the retired quarterback beat Mahomes in Super Bowl LV.

This conversation about who the NFL “GOAT” quarterback is will likely continue throughout the rest of Mahomes's football career.
