Chiefs’ Chris Jones Celebrates New Contract With Three Blunt Tweets

Chiefs star Chris Jones agreed to a new five-year deal with $95 million guaranteed Saturday night, becoming the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history, and naturally, he celebrated.

Although fans might never be privy to what Jones actually did to commemorate the massive contract, they know he’s thrilled to remain in Kansas City, as evidenced by his social media activity. Jones made three posts to celebrate the lucrative deal, with the first simply featuring two emojis of a pencil to paper to commemorate the deal. He posted it right before the news broke.

His second post was a little less subtle.

“Letssss gooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!” Jones wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Finally, he capped off the record deal with a message for Kansas City.

“KC….5 more years of greatness! 3x,” Jones said.

The post featured a picture of Jones celebrating Super Bowl LVIII—his third time winning the Lombardi Trophy with the Chiefs.

Jones, 29, was named first-team All-Pro this past season and was a key player in Kansas City’s Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers in February. With him back in the fold, the Chiefs are poised to make a run at the coveted three-peat.
