Titans to Sign RB Tony Pollard

The Tennessee Titans will sign Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard to a three-year, $24 million deal when the new league year begins Wednesday, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC-TV in Houston.

The Cowboys had interest in re-signing Pollard, and he also drew interest from the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported. Instead, Pollard is heading to the AFC South with Tennessee.

Titans star running back Derrick Henry is unlikely to return to the team in 2024 as he explores free agency. Pollard probably will replace Henry as the team’s starting tailback, with second-year player Tyjae Spears likely to serve as Pollard’s backup.

Tony Pollard reportedly is joining the Tennessee Titans on the heels of consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

Pollard spent the first five seasons of his NFL career in Dallas. He was named the team’s starting tailback last season after Ezekiel Elliott left for the New England Patriots. Pollard rushed for 1,005 yards and six touchdowns on 252 carries (4.0 yards per carry) last season. He also caught 55 passes for 311 yards.

Pollard enjoyed his best statistical season in 2022, when he rushed for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns on 193 carries (5.2 yards per carry) despite just starting four games.
