Russell Wilson Offers Royal Welcome to New Steelers Teammate Patrick Queen

The Pittsburgh Steelers secured another big addition in free agency on Tuesday, coming to terms with star linebacker Patrick Queen on a three-year, $41 million deal.

The Steelers’ other key offseason signing, veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, offered a gracious welcome to Queen after news broke of his new contract. Wilson, who agreed sign with Pittsburgh on a one-year deal following his departure from the Denver Broncos, took to X with an excited message for Queen.

“QUEEEEENNN!” wrote Wilson on X, tagging the 24-year-old in his post.

Wilson only has been linked to the Steelers for a couple of days, and he isn’t even officially signed just yet, though he figures to be soon after the new league year begins Wednesday. Still, he wasted no time giving a warm welcome to his newest teammate in Queen, who figures to make an instant impact on the defensive side of the ball.

Queen, a first-round pick in 2020 out of LSU, spent the previous four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before opting to join their division rival on Tuesday. Last season, he registered 133 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks, nine tackles for loss and was named to his first Pro Bowl. He didn’t miss a single game throughout his tenure in Baltimore and will look to provide that same level of durability in Pittsburgh.
