Tom Brady Says He's 'Not Opposed' to Making NFL Return If a Team Calls

Tom Brady retired from the NFL after the 2022 season, but the question of whether the legendary quarterback would return to the league is always a topic of conversation.

This question is posed partially because Brady had retired once before, after the 2021 season, but unretired a month later for one last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His latest retirement felt more real, though, since he never returned in 2023.

Is there still a possibility that NFL fans could see Brady on the field again?

"I'm not opposed to it," Brady said on the DeepCut Podcast. "I don't know if they're going to let me by becoming an owner in an NFL team. I don't know, I'm always going to be in good shape, always be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don't know if they'd let me, but I wouldn't be opposed to it."

As for which team he'd suit up for, Brady specifically named the New England Patriots, where he played for 20 years and won six Super Bowls, and the Las Vegas Raiders, the franchise that he could eventually own a partial stake in.

Brady admitted if these teams were down a quarterback nearing the end of the season, that he would consider suiting up again. But his potential ownership of the Raiders may cause some issues with him coming back.

Brady will be 47 years old when the 2024 NFL season kicks off in September.
