Retired DE Carl Nassib Gives Wise Financial Advice to Rookies at Podium at NFL Draft

In this story:
Retired NFL defensive end Carl Nassib took to the podium to announce the No. 85 pick in the 2024 NFL draft for the Cleveland Browns on Friday night, and prior to making the pick, offered some sage financial advice to incoming rookies.
"I saw a lot of diamonds last night. To all you draft picks at home, save your money," Nassib said. "It's not about how much you make, it's about how much you keep, alright?" Nassib concluded, before announcing Cleveland's selection of University of Michigan offensive lineman Zak Zinter.

Nassib's financial advice is sound, and should definitely be taken seriously by incoming rookies. There have been far too many stories of players across the NFL making millions of dollars over their careers and retiring from the sport broke.
Nassib made nearly $23 million in his seven-year career, according to Over the Cap. It's safe to say he has saved plenty of that money now that his playing career is done.
