Let's get completely ahead of ourselves.

The 49ers are undefeated and look like the best team in the NFL. If their season continues along its current trajectory, lots of members of the organization will win big awards. Here are six people currently in line for major recognition.

BROCK PURDY for MVP

Currently leads the league in passer rating at 123.1. Hasn't thrown an interception. Plays quarterback for the best team in the NFL, and the MVP generally goes to a quarterback. As long as Purdy has the most efficient numbers in the league, he'll be a realistic candidate to win this award.

CHRISTIAN McCAFFREY for OPOY

Currently leads the league in touches, yards from scrimmage and touchdowns. Arguably the MVP of the 49ers offense over Purdy, but the quarterback usually gets that award because he plays a more important position. So McCaffrey is in line to win the Offensive Player of the Year Award if he stays healthy.

FRED WARNER for DPOY

The leader and best player on the best defense in the NFL. Last year, Nick Bosa won this award, but he has just 1.5 sacks through 5 games while Warner, a middle linebacker, has two, and has made a significantly bigger impact.

STEVE WILKS for COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR

Inherited the No. 1 defense in the NFL and so far has made it even better. Has figured out how to contain mobile quarterbacks and not give up long passes down the field -- two things for which DeMeco Ryans could never find solutions. Through five games, the 49ers are giving up 13.4 points per game. Wilks deserves the credit.

KYLE SHANAHAN for COACH OF THE YEAR

He's undefeated and finally has developed a young quarterback. Brock Purdy has improved in his second season following a UCL surgery on his throwing elbow. Shanahan deserves credit. Finally he has a quarterback who values his system and wants to master it, and look at the results.

JOHN LYNCH for EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR

Signed Javon Hargrave, who has been one of the best acquisitions in the NFL this season.
