In this story:

Brandon Aiyuk had made a claim prior to this season.

He said that he was going to "take off" and he certainly has been doing so. As it stands, Aiyuk is on pace to best his stats from last season, which were his career bests at the time. Despite not having amazing stats against the Seahawks, Aiyuk still made an impact in the 49ers win by icing the game with a sweet touchdown

That touchdown gave him five on the year, which is now four straight seasons with at least five touchdowns. It is a feat that only four other 49ers in history, who happen to be legends, have achieved. The last four San Francisco players to accomplish that feat were Vernon Davis (five from 2009-13), Pro Football Hall of Famers Terrell Ownes (four from 2000-03) and Jerry Rice (11 from 1986-96), and Dwight Clark (four from 1982-85).

Aiyuk is forever etched in 49ers lore with some phenomenal company. This goes to show how impressive of a wide receiver he has been since the 49ers drafted him. Every year he has gotten better and better. He never remained the same or regressed in the following season. He's exactly the type of young player that every franchise dreams about, which is continuing on an upward trajectory.

Accomplishing at least five touchdowns for the last four seasons means that Aiyuk has been a baller since his rookie season. He's had a nose for the end zone since the beginning and has only improved. Aiyuk currently has 45 catches for 881 yards and five touchdowns. It's safe to say that he is going to eclipse 1,000 yards and surely get a few more touchdowns. Aiyuk is on track to be a Pro Bowl player at this rate.

All he is doing is making it a no-brainer for the 49ers to extend him after this season.
