George Kittle Says He Can Block Nick Bosa

SANTA CLARA -- George Kittle has a high opinion of himself.

I was reminded of this Wednesday in the locker room when I asked him about Packers rookie tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave.

"I always like watching other tight ends try to block Nick Bosa. It will be exciting."

"Have you ever tried to block Nick Bosa?" I asked.

"Yeah, in training camp," Kittle said.

"How did that go?"

"He's really good, but I'm also really good at what I do," Kittle said humbly. "I will say, and he's going to get so mad at me for this, but in 2019 he tried to rush upfield and spin underneath, and I caught him and talked crap to him about it for two days. And he said, 'If you keep talking to me about that, I'm just going to bullrush you for the rest of your career." And so this is the first time I've talked about that since then. Hopefully he doesn't hear it but you guys can tell him if you want."

"I'm going to tell him," I said.

"Yeah that's fine," Kittle said. "He's fantastic. The things he does with his hands -- he is one of a kind. There is no one in the world like Nick Bosa. It's an incredible challenge to go against him every day and a complete privilege for me, because if I can do something right against him, I know I can go out there with confidence that I can block anyone else."
