What the 49ers Can Realistically Afford at the NFL Trade Deadline

In this story:
In most years, trade proposals are pipe dreams or fan desires. The San Francisco 49ers will likely be active at the trade deadline, but, in addition, similar to Keion White. However, this is a team that added Emmanuel Sanders at the trade deadline before, albeit at a reasonable price. Still, they have swung when the time is right. Looking at the 49ers' cap, draft picks, and roster outlook, it feels like this year is the best year for the team to go all-in.
San Francisco 49ers Are Prepared to Go All-In
It does not hurt that the team is off to a 6-0 start while the Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 and the Los Angeles Rams are 2-4. Aside from the Minnesota Vikings, every team in the NFC has at least two losses. The conference is not going to be more wide open entering November.
The team also has Trent Williams, who is 38 years old. George Kittle and Mike Evans are 33 years old. Christian McCaffrey is 30, Fred Warner is 39, and while Nick Bosa is 28, he has some of the biggest injury concerns of the group. They need to win a Super Bowl with this corps, and they are running out of seasons.
The addition of Evans showed they are going for it and not worrying about the future. Now they can make a splash to solidify it.
More than that, the team is well equipped to make a run. They currently have the most salary cap space in the NFL. With $43M in cap space, the team can take on a big salary this year, and they will still have money to roll over for next year.

So, they can rid any team of their bad contract players without much issue. More than that, they have all of their noteworthy draft picks for the foreseeable future. Their first- through third-round picks for the next three seasons are all accounted for.
There are not many teams across past seasons that sit with such a lead in the division with the cap space and pick situation that they have. When adding in the win-now nature of their roster, there are few teams that historically are more primed to make a blockbuster trade deadline move than the 49ers.
While the team could put a few band-aids on the roster with smart and savvy moves, they could also be the team that goes all-in this year.
