Should the 49ers add an Alternate Helmet to Their Uniforms?

The 49ers now have the option to give themselves an alternate look should they want it.

More variety is coming to the NFL.

Earlier in the week, the league announced it has revised the uniform policy to allow teams a third helmet design, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

This doesn't really apply to the San Francisco 49ers since they don't have any alternate helmets, but maybe now is the time for them to change that. Variety is always nice and the 49ers have amazing color schemes that they can play with.

So, should the 49ers add an alternate helmet to their uniforms?

Not at all. The 49ers have such a classic look that it should not be messed with. It's too good for them to switch to something dingy and risk looking like clowns on the field. Like the saying goes, "look good, play good" for athletes.

Besides, the 49ers already have one of the best alternate uniforms already. Every time they rock their 1994 throwbacks, both home and away, they easily are the sharpest ones in the league. They should not deviate away from that by adding a different helmet look.

Just because the option is there doesn't mean the 49ers should use it. Plenty of teams do and they look ridiculous. Take the Arizona Cardinals for instance. Their alternate helmets which is all black with their cardinal logo looks weird.

For the 49ers, don't change or mess with something that isn't broken. They are forever one of the most iconic and classic looks in all of sports. How they have their uniforms and helmets now is more than perfect.
