Report: Bengals Beat Out Multiple Teams To Sign Nick Scott

Teams from both conferences wanted to sign the safety.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals beat out a few teams to sign free-agent safety Nick Scott last week.

According to Aaron Wilson, Cincinnati landed him over the Rams, Broncos, and Buccaneers.

"Nick Scott," Wilson tweeted. "Who joined the team on a three-year, $12 million deal that includes a $3 million signing bonus, $4.4M first-year compensation, also had offers from #Rams to try to retain him. Drew inquiries later in the process from #Broncos, Buccaneers."

Scott is entering his fifth season after posting 86 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, and 5 pass breakups last season. He's appeared in 64 career games.
