Vonn Bell On Returning To Cincinnati: 'Amazing, At Peace'

The Bengals let him go for one year and then Carolina opened the door for a return.

CINCINNATI — Vonn Bell is back donning stripes after a three-year run in Cincinnati got bridged with one year in Carolina.

The safety discussed what it's like to be back on Friday.

"Amazing. at peace," Bell said about his feelings. "Glad to be back. I feel warm. Glad to see a lot of familiar faces with the coaches. A lot of guys hit me up and it's just great to be back for sure. I think of the connections with people here and now especially with the coaching staff and the guys in the locker room and that locker room is very special."

Bell has made some iconic plays in stripes and now he joins a reshaped safety room that figures to mix in him, Jordan Battle, and Geno Stone in some fashion with Dax Hill possibly moving to slot cornerback.

The veteran hinted that Cincinnati was his first choice once Carolina released him, and his old, now new, defensive coordinator rang him up first.

"That's my guy, man," Bell said about Lou Anarumo. "And we have a connection, a bond that will last forever. Just hearing his voice made me calm down. There was a lot of anxiety for sure. But first time going through that. That's over now, it's in the past, I'm in the now."
