Multiple Teams Could Pass on Brock Bowers Due to Contract Value, Giving Bengals Chance to Land Georgia Star

Could Bowers fall to the Bengals at No. 18?

CINCINNATI — Could Georgia tight end Brock Bowers really fall to the Bengals at No. 18 in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Daniel Jeremiah shared one reason why the top prospect might drop and it has nothing to do with him as a player.

Some teams won't be willing to take a tight end in the top 10 due to positional value from a spending standpoint. Having a wide receiver, offensive tackle or cornerback on a rookie deal is much more cost effective and valuable.

"I'm already paying top of the market price for my rookie tight end," Jeremiah said. "I'm not really getting that rookie contract benefit."

It's worth noting that the Bengals land Bowers in Jeremiah's latest mock draft.

Bowers is the fourth-ranked prospect on Lance Zierlein's big board. He would likely be the top player on Cincinnati's board if he did fall to them at No. 18.
