Report: Bengals Met With Ole Miss Running Back Zach Evans Ahead of 2023 NFL Draft

In this story:
CINCINNATI — Ole Miss running back Zach Evans reportedly met with Cincinnati ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Aaron Wilson noted the meeting as the Bengals continue to carry Joe Mixon among other running backs like a newly re-signed Trayveon Williams and Chris Evans.
The talented SEC back is ranked 115th overall on the consensus big board and 10th among running backs.
Zach Evans carried the ball 144 times last season for 936 yards and 9 touchdowns.
He missed six games with turf toe in 2020 but has otherwise avoided missing much time while staying under 290 career carries. Although, pass blocking is a question mark for the 21-year-old, coming from his roles at TCU and Ole Miss.
Zach Evans is a RB prospect in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 8.72 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 222 out of 1723 RB from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/ybpmdpwV7o pic.twitter.com/syxooRFOTA

There are some pretty special runs on tape for Zach Evans. pic.twitter.com/fRS3M0PAgv

RB Zach Evans (#6) is a north-south runner that is willing to work between the tackles. He lacks creativity as a runner, but has burst, tight footwork and flashes the understanding of how to tempo his runs and set up blockers.

Some similarities to Tevin Coleman with his game. pic.twitter.com/lE93Uc7o5n
Zach Evans is a pretty good runner and a former 5 star recruit so he makes sense for the Bengals there, but he has to be one of the worst passing down backs I've ever watchedpic.twitter.com/rik2QeW2ob
