Major Outlet Slots Cincinnati with Pair of Texas Players in Two-Round Mock Draft
Cincinnati holds the 18th and 49th picks this month.
CINCINNATI — The Bengals double-dipped on Texas talents in PFF's latest two-round mock draft, rolling with defensive tackle Byron Murphy in the first round and tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders in the second.
Murphy is the consensus big board's 17th-best player available and the best defensive tackle.
"With Newton gone one pick before, Cincinnati snags the other top interior pass rusher in this draft in Byron Murphy II from Texas," Sam Monson wrote. "A pass rusher from the interior (19.6% pass-rush win rate last season), Murphy is also strong enough to line up on the nose and cause problems."
Sanders is the consensus second-best tight end and 51st-ranked player overall.
"Cincinnati has needed an upgrade at tight end for years, and Sanders has playmaking ability at the spot," Monson wrote.
