After roster cuts took place league wide yesterday, the Cleveland Browns appeared to be pretty set with their initial 53-man roster. All teams had an opportunity to claim players on the waiver wire by noon today. The Browns had the number 12 priority in claims.

Andrew Berry has made a surprise claim by claiming cornerback Kahlef Hailassie from the Kansas City Chiefs. Hailassie was signed by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. He played collegiately at Western Kentucky, where he was an all conference second team award winner in 2022.

Hailassie measures in at just over 6 ft tall, and 193 pounds. He tested pretty average athletically during the pre-draft process. He did test pretty well in agility drills, posting above average times in the three-cone and shuttle. During the preseason he played well, finishing with a league best 0.0 passer rating and a 25% completion rate which was third best in the league. He also finished third best in run stops for all cornerbacks.

the attention will now turn to what Browns player will be removed from the roster to accommodate hi signing. With Berry's track record of finding cornerbacks he may have just found his next gem in Hailassie.
