Browns Rival Makes Bargain Trade For Justin Fields

The Pittsburgh Steelers have added two new additions to their quarterback room, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Just a few days after signing Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, the Pittsburgh Steelers have made a shocking trade with the Chicago Bears for Justin Fields.

It has been well known around the league that the Chicago Bears have been heavily exploring the idea of trading Fields and potentially selecting USC's Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Fields is a freak athlete with running ability at quarterback. His consistency as a passer has been called into question since his rookie year, which appears to be the reason that he has been ousted in Chicago.

In the past week, the quarterback dominos have started to fall, yet Fields had not been able to find a suitor. In the end, the Steelers were the beneficiaries of a thin market for the former first-rounder and landed his services for only a 2025 6th-round pick.

That sixth-round selection could go up to a 4th-round pick based on playtime according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Regardless of whether that pick remains a sixth or moves up to a fourth, this is a steal for Pittsburgh.

According to Brooke Pryor of ESPN, a team source said that the former Ohio State quarterback will not be competing for the starting job with Russell Wilson.

Last season, Wilson threw for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns and 8 interceptions while in Denver. Fields threw for 2,562 yards, 16 touchdowns and 9 interceptions, while also adding 657 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground.

Pittsburgh did not waste any time to replace Kenny Pickett's spot in the quarterback room after trading him to Philadelphia just one day prior.
