Cardinals Hosting Texas Tech Safety

The Arizona Cardinals could add to their defensive backs room.

ARIZONA -- We're ten days removed from the 2024 NFL Draft, and the Arizona Cardinals continue to do work on potential prospects who could call the desert home.

Arizona is reportedly meeting with Texas Tech safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

This is the last week pre-draft visits are allowed.

The Cardinals have done extensive work on positions such as wide receiver and cornerback, though Arizona could look to bolster their safety room behind the likes of Jalen Thompson and Budda Baker - who is entering the final year of his contract.

Taylor-Demerson was a team captain at Texas Tech and is considered to be a do-it-all safety from a coverage perspective.

More from his NFL.com draft profile, which compared him to Jordan Whitehead:

"Taylor-Demerson might not have the highly coveted measurables that teams will gravitate toward, but he brings plenty of instincts and ball skills. He offers coverage versatility as a split safety, high safety and nickel. He’s quick enough to handle man coverage and plays with outstanding anticipation to steal from quarterbacks who show their cards. His aggression will create some negative plays and his tackling might never be more than average. Taylor-Demerson’s versatility, football IQ and consistent ball production align with what defensive coordinators are looking for and should make him a solid starting defensive back." - Lance Zierlein

The Cardinals have 11 total picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, two coming in the first with six total set for the first three rounds.
