Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins Predicts His Future

The Arizona Cardinals wideout has plenty of plans, at least off the field.

Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins has found himself in plenty of headlines over the last few months.

After the 2022 season ended, the Cardinals cleaned house and embarked on their journey to rebuild. Hopkins' presence (due to age and salary) wasn't a match for a 4-13 team that was only set to get worse over the offseason, and the All-Pro receiver likely is in search of a Super Bowl before his career is over.

A divorce is the best outcome for both sides, and so the Cardinals have entertained offers and talk throughout the last few months.

Yet Hopkins has yet to be moved, and his absence from voluntary OTA's was another

On the I AM ATHLETE podcast, Hopkins was asked to predict the next 18 months:

"Probably a sports team owner. I already own a women's professional football team called the Houston Mambas, it's 11-on-11 real football. Another sports team owner [is a goal] in Australia, we can talk about it later B-Marsh [Brandon Marshall] and building a fashion brand over the next couple months," said Hopkins.

"I plan to go to Italy and go do some deep diving with my good friends over there … I think it's time to build that brand and show the world who DeAndre Hopkins is."

Well, that didn't exactly fill the needs football fans were searching for. But he did mention some things he was in search of in the NFL.

"What I want is stable management upstairs, that's something I haven't really had the past couple years of my career coming from Houston and then to Arizona. A QB who loves the game, a QB who brings everybody on board with him, not just himself but everybody around him," said Hopkins. "And a great defense. A great defense wins championships."

There's been a number of interested teams in Hopkins, but the receiver said most notably he paid attention to the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots.

"I didn't have direct conversations, but just seeing what's on Twitter, what's on Instagram, you gotta pay attention to some of those things," he said. "Really, those are the only two teams that I paid attention to that I was like, 'All right, let me see if social media is right'."

Hopkins showed a lot of love for Bills QB Josh Allen on the podcast, too.

"That's a good question. I would have to say one of my favorite quarterbacks I've been watching since he came in the league is Josh Allen," said Hopkins.

"Josh Allen, he reminds me of a new school Andrew Luck. I love Josh Allen."
