Arizona Cardinals Injury Report Following Preseason Week 2 Loss vs Cowboys

In this story:
ARIZONA — The Arizona Cardinals are happy to get back to Tempe for corrections after a eye-opening 34-13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in preseason Week 2 action.
The Cardinals emerged with a few bumps and bruises from action at State Farm Stadium, which head coach Mike LaFleur addressed with reporters after the loss.
Which Cardinals Were Injured vs Cowboys?
"(P) Blake Gillikin ended up having a groin (injury), he'll get an MRI tomorrow. ‘Rabbit’ (S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson) with ribs, (WR) Xavier Weaver with a ‘hammy’ (hamstring), (CB) Kei’Trel Clark ended up having a hip (injury), (S) Wydett Williams Jr. and (CB) Kalen King are both getting evaluated for concussions," he said to begin his post-game press conference.
Gillikin, who missed much of 2025 with a back injury, suffered the injury pre-game, which forced Chad Ryland into punting duties for the night.
“(It was) just a groin (injury) when he was warming up. Again, I'll probably have more information in two days," LaFleur said on Gillikin, who is one of the better punters in the league when healthy.
"Obviously in the preseason, I didn't even ask him. If this were Week 1, ‘could you-’, you know, what does it matter?”
LaFleur is unsure if Taylor-Demerson's injury is serious after he went to the ground following a collision.
“I can't answer that right now. I don't think so, but I'll have a better understanding of that tomorrow and then when I'm with you guys in two days," he said. The Cardinals have an off day today before returning to work on Monday.
Weaver was in a yellow non-contact jersey earlier this week during practice while Clark, Williams and King all practiced fine before picking up their injuries.
Williams brought the boom for a big hit during last night's game.
What a hit by Wydett Williams Jr. 😳

What Cardinals Said On Josh Sweat
We even got an update on Sweat, who remains on the PUP list and has yet to step foot on a practice field for the Cardinals in 2026.
“This coming week? Yeah. Josh is doing good," said LaFleur when asked if Sweat could return.
“We want all these guys, whether they're injured, they got injured a week ago or obviously in Sweat's case just getting them out there for that first time. We want all those guys back. Like I always say with the guys that are edge rushers, they rush the quarterback. It's a little different than the rhythm and timing of a quarterback and (wide) receiver.
"I’m just being real about it. It's one thing with rhythm, timing and working in combination with an offensive line. It's another thing when you know you are in that stance on third down and you're finding your point. (There is) no doubt in my mind (that if) you want to get better at football, you have to be out there in football. There is a little difference in my opinion. Not everyone would agree with me on that.”
