ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are expected to be better than their previous 4-13 record from last season, and oddsmakers believe Jonathan Gannon can piece together quite the campaign moving into 2024.

Opening NFL Coach of the Year odds were recently unveiled by BetOnline, and Gannon is tied for the fifth-best odds in the league entering his sophomore campaign.

Raheem Morris: 5/1
Jim Harbaugh: 750
Matt LaFleur: 12/1
DeMeco Ryans: 14/1
Dave Canales: 16/1
Jerod Mayo: 16/1
Jonathan Gannon: 16/1
Mike Macdonald: 16/1
Shane Steichen: 16/1

With a healthy Kyler Murray in the fold, the Cardinals do aim to be much better, and there's hope Arizona can utilize added players from both free agency and their upcoming draft class to show improvement from year one to two of their rebuild.

Earlier in the offseason, Gannon met with reporters at the NFL Combine and stated his desire to improve both on and off the field.

“I’ve told you guys four games isn’t winning enough, but I do think we have a good plan in place to improve our players and get better and what it speaks to is kind of the culture in the locker room, the kind of people in the locker room. It’s people and how you behave, that’s it. It’s not some fancy word. It’s like, ‘Hey, who do you have and how do we behave on a daily basis?’ It’s my job to hold them to that, like, ‘This is what we want and let’s make sure we do it.’" said Gannon.

“When it’s right, we point that out and when it’s not right, we point that out. Ultimately, the locker room took that over this year. We got good guys in the locker room and that’s why Monti [Ossenfort] and I are so convicted. Anyone we put in this locker room, they’ve got to fit that. It’s not for everybody and like I said, that’s OK. It’s what we value as an organization.”
